Eduqas GCSE Music
The Course
The course consists of: • A minimum of two pieces, one of which must be an ensemble performance of at least one minute duration. • Two compositions, one of which must be in response to a brief set by Eduqas. • Listening examination, assessing knowledge and understanding through the study of four areas of study: Musical forms & devices, Music for ensemble, Film music and Popular music. |
Assessment
• Component 1: Performing Total duration of performances: 4-6 minutes 30% of qualification • Component 2: Composing Total duration of compositions: 3-6 minutes 30% of qualification • Component 3: Appraising Written examination: 1 hour 15 minutes 40% of qualification |

Eduqas Vocational Award in Music
The Course
You will: • Develop as a performer, composer and learnt about the role in the industry • Develop knowledge both practically and academically in class with specialist practitioners. • learn about popular music • perform and compose to briefs related to the different areas of music • working as a musical ensemble • produce a musical recordings • learn how to use music technology |
Assessment
The vocational award in Music will comprise three units including: • Unit 1: Performing 30% of qualification • Unit 2: Creating 30% of qualification • Unit 3: Music in practice 40% of qualification This is equivalent to 1 GCSE at A*-C |
